When the clock struck 0:00am of Jan 1, 2010, I was on a car-pool trip back to Min Hang from Xin Zhuang, the terminal station of No. 1 Subway. Sitting in the car, I felt somewhat weird since this seemed not the “expected” way of beginning a new year – perhaps somewhat too hasty.
A friend called me in late afternoon, inviting me to have dinner together. This erupted my original plan of staying at home and making up some sleep. Then the routine followed: dinner at a restaurant and coffee at Starbucks. At about 11:00pm, we departed at Xin Zhuang and headed in opposite directions.
In this new year’s day, I decide not to make any resolutions. Since it arrived quietly, I think it may well be a sensible way to embrace and accept whatever is to happen in 2010.
